DEN@Viterbi: Pursuing Programs from Outside the United States

If you are interested in earning your Engineering Master's Degree via DEN@Viterbi from outside of the United States, please follow the below guidelines so that we can better serve you through this process.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All applicants interested in pursuing their graduate degree online must be approved by DEN@Viterbi to pursue their program from outside of the United States. Pre-approval is the first step and is outlined below.

DEN@Viterbi requires that all examinations are proctored at established proctoring centers, or through proctoring resources by DEN@Viterbi approved corporations. It is important that all prospective students interested in pursuing their program from outside of the United States are approved prior to applying for admission into their desired program.

Begin the approval process and submit the International Studies on DEN@Viterbi Information Form

Review the DEN@Viterbi Technical Requirements, allowing you to engage with our proprietary web-based delivery system that enables students from around the world to access classes live, on demand or by download. The technical requirements include accessing our: online course management system, archived lecture videos, electronic documents, electronic homework submission and live web conferencing systems. Prospective students should be comfortable with internet technologies, such as using web browsers and internet media applications, or Windows Media Player at a minimum.

The DEN@Viterbi team will review your completed submission of the International Studies on DEN@Viterbi Application Form (Step 1).

In order to be approved, you must complete and submit the DEN@Viterbi Proctor Packet: Outside the U.S. (Step 2).

Please note that in order to be approved:

DEN@Viterbi requires that all examinations are proctored by your employer (learning managers, etc.), or through USC-approved proctoring centers. DEN@Viterbi will work directly with your employer, or the identified proctoring center to preserve the academic integrity of the degree programs.

Please note that if you do not have learning support through an employer, a proctoring center must be identified in order for you to pursue any graduate program via DEN@Viterbi.
International students should understand exam timing requirements. While we will work with your employer or a proctoring center for exam proctoring support, there is little flexibility on the date of exams and students will need to plan accordingly.
We will contact you once you have been approved to apply as a DEN@Viterbi applicant.

International DEN@Viterbi students must meet the English-Language Proficiency Requirements set by USC.

Upon admission, International DEN@Viterbi students will need to complete or meet one of the following requirements:

(1) Take the International Student English (ISE) exam online prior to enrolling in courses or qualify for the English-Language Test Waiver, as explained on the English Proficiency page

(2) Meet the English language proficiency requirements for the TOEFL or IELTS, as outlined on the English Proficiency page
